Dr Georgia Mavria
Regulation of Rho GTPases in cancer angiogenesis
Date awarded: April 2010
Total value of grant: £224,000
Duration: 3 years
Funding Body: YCR
Summary:
We are interested to understand the molecular mechanisms that regulate the formation of new blood vessels in tumours. Rho GTPases regulate key processes undergone by endothelial cells during angiogenesis such as cell migration and cell-cell junction formation. Research funded by this YCR project grant will reveal how Rho proteins required for angiogenesis such as CDC42 are controlled by upstream regulators during tumour angiogenesis
