Research Interests
- Cancer Angiogenesis
- Rho GTPases
- Endothelial-tumour cell interactions
About
Dr Mavria’s group is working to elucidate the precise molecular mechanisms that underpin the process of new vessel growth in tumours. They are particularly interested in novel Rho and Rho-related signalling pathways activated during angiogenesis. Positive or negative regulators of Rho family members may constitute therapeutic targets for anti-angiogenic tharapies in cancers.
Collaboration
Professor Chris Marshall, Institute of Cancer Research, London
Grants Awarded
CR-UK project grant: Identification of Rho Family GTPases and regulatory proteins required for angiogenesis (2007-2010)
YCR grant: Regulation of Rho GTPases in cancer angiogenesis (awarded April 2010)
