Initiatives

Our objectives have been set out to foster and promote high quality world-class translational research which actively engages experts in multidisciplinary teams from across the spectrum of scientific and health research.  In order to achieve this we have developed a number of initiatives which are being implemented across the UoL and LTHT, and include:

  • STRF Scheme – an ambitious initiative to recruit excellent researchers with the potential to become world-class leaders in their field
  • Technology Groups – a mechanism to provide cross-cutting expertise to the BHRC Community and across the University and LTHT
  • Problem Solving Fund – a pump-priming funding solution addressing obstacles in ongoing translational research
  • Networking Events – in the form of informal and formal seminars, workshops and away-days which offer researchers opportunity for networking and stimulate innovative new research
  • Applied Health Research and Clinical Trials Research Unit – NHS funding for the Leeds Institute of Health Sciences (LIHS) and Clinical Trials Research Unit (CTRU) has been dedicated to capacity and infrastructure needs in order to sustain the high quality growth of applied research
